Limp Bizkit- Significant Other (1999)
Significant Other is the second album by American nu-metal band Limp Bizkit released on June 22, 1999. The album reached #1 on both the U.S. Billboard 200 Chart and the Canadian Albums Chart, remaining at #83 on the U.S. Billboard 200 at the end of the year. The album has sold 9 million copies to date in the United States and 14 million internationally.

Significant Other includes four singles-- "Nookie," "Re-Arranged," "Break Stuff," and "N 2 Gether Now." The first three singles were commercial successes in the United States, with all three charting in the top 20 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart-- "Nookie" reached #6, "Re-Arranged" charted at #8, and "Break Stuff" climbed to #19.

Notable of the album is that it combines a unique blend of Rap and Hip-Hop inspired lyrics and vocals with heavy-metal instrumental accompaniment, otherwise known as the genre "nu-metal." Limp Bizkit were pioneers in influencing the genre of nu-metal in the late 1990s and early 2000s, along with bands such as: Korn, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, System Of a Down, and more.

Also notable of Significant Other is that Limp Bizkit gained much popularity during their performance of the song "Break Stuff" at Woodstock 1999, where violence and chaos erupted in the crowd-- one giant 'mosh-pit' if you will. However, the controversy did not stop Significant Other from becoming successful and the album was even given positive reviews by critics, who praised its unique sound and the band's performance when compared to their debut studio album from 1997, titled Three Dollar Bill Yall.
