Original Song Lyrics - "Working Man Blues"

Hello everyone and welcome to the blog of JPageFan71!

Yesterday I posted that I would be uploading more original song lyrics pertaining to an abandoned concept album format. Therefore, I would like to post my fourth original song lyrics. This begins the set of songs that I wrote for the album in 2013, previously titled The Trials and Tribulations of Man. The abandoned album includes eight original song lyrics. Details for the latest album, titled Eclipse, can be found in previous posts.

Here is the first song written for the album-- "Working Man Blues."

Working Man Blues

Get up for work everyday
Couldn't it be some other way?
The way it's always been
Is the way it always stays

Workin' like a slave
Dig me an early grave
'Cuz my paycheck pays the bills
And there's nothin' left to save

I've got an ugly smirk
When I get home from work
I'm in a bad mood
Because my boss is a jerk

Workin' like a slave
Dig me an early grave
Because my paycheck pays the bills
And there's nothin' left to save

Lay down in bed
Rest my weary head
I'll get a good night's rest
When my boss is finally dead

[Guitar Solo]

Workin' like a slave
Dig me an early grave
'Cuz my paycheck pays the bills
And there's nothin' left to save

I said
Work me like a slave
Dig my early grave
My paycheck pays the bills
And I've got none left to save

Walk a step in my shoes
The working man blues...
