Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin II

Led Zeppelin II is the second studio album by British rock group Led Zeppelin released on October 22, 1969. The album has been certified 12x Platinum in the United States, 9x Platinum in Canada, and 4x Platinum in the United Kingdom. The album peaked at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and the U.S. Billboard 200.

Led Zeppelin II produced 2 singles-- "Whole Lotta Love" and "Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman)." The first single charted at #4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the second at #65 on the same chart. Other notable songs on the album include: "Ramble On," "What Is and What Should Never Be," "Thank You," and "Heartbreaker."

Notable of the album is that is was Led Zeppelin's first album to reach #1 in the United Kingdom and the United States. Also,  Jimmy Page is listed as the producer of the album and the production on the album was heavily influenced by Eddie Kramer. The song "Ramble On" contains lyrics that reference J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings novels as singer Robert Plant was a big fan of Tolkien's work and fantasy in general. Led Zeppelin II has been stated by fans to be Zeppelin's "heaviest" album.
